LDraw Edit Tools GUI
Thank you for visiting the side for LETGUI. (French version http://jc-tchang.philohome.com/manuel/letgui.htm)
The current version you will find at http://mikeheide2.kilu.de
Just in the last year there has been a lot of command line tools rising that are wonderful for authoring parts for LDraw file. But as I do not like the handling of command line tools it was now the time to write a GUI for that.
So LETGUI is really only a GUI for tools like:
Each link directs you to the homepage of that tool.
Use the download-section below and get the full package.

This
is the starting window that appears first.
As the first Step you have to open the Options dialog to configure LETGUI for your purposes.

This
is the options dialog that you need to configure!
You have to fill in the path of each tool that you want to use. If you push on the line the „...“ button you have only to locate the required tools on your system an hit the OK button. The correct formated string will be put into the fields.
Additionally you can specify a viewer and an editor of your choice to directly see the results.
If you have filled all fields that you think you would need then hit the OK button. You choices will be save for next time usage.

This
is a sample for the tool Coverer.
After you have set all options in the options dialog, you are now able to choose the tool you need from the dropdown field „Tool“.
The window will change to give you all possibilities that the choosen tool will have. For the exact use of the parameter please read the instruction that will be shipped with that tool.
There is no validation of your parameters by LETGUI.
For easy working you will find on the right side three buttons.
„...“ -button to seach for the file
„V“-button to view the file with the programm you have specified in the options dialog.
„E“-button to edit the file with the programm you have specified in the options dialog.
If all parameters are set simply hit the „Create“ button.
That's it!
There are several ways to work with LETGUI.
The normal one is that you starts the program and do all from the main window.
The next possibility that you have is that you can put a link to LETGUI in your „Send To“ folder. If you have done this, you can open LETGUI by rightclick on an DAT-file and select in the menu „Send To“ - LETGUI. By doing in that way LETGUI starts and the file that you have send to is already loaded as the input file.
The last possibility is that you can combine LETGUI also with other programs that have the possibility to give a parameter to the program. In this case you do not need to care about spaces in filenames, as LETGUI only accept one parameter and that is a filename with full path included. All what is given to LETGUI will be internally treated as only one filename with path. If such a file exists, LETGUI tries to open that.
If you have commets and/or wishes for LETGUI please let me know.

As LETGUI is written in Visual Basic Express 2005 it should work on all systems that have MS NET Framework 2.0 installed. If you need the Framework, please download from Microsoft webside. Started from Version 1.1.0.0 it should also work with Mono (www.mono-project.com), but I could not get it to run until today. Sorry. Reviews and comments are welcome.
